The program that I'm currently on is setting me up to become an assistant manager within Reece. In terms of the promotion, its timeframe is not guaranteed therefore the trajectory is a bit unclear. To move up to assistant manager, I think I would require a complete understanding of store operation, excellent customer service and sales skills, and good product knowledge. In the present moment, a lot of my day-to-days are self-paced, meaning I do not have anyone overseeing and directing me on my next steps. I hope that there would be more opportunity to do things that assistant manager or the manager would do to further fast track my trading, management, and leadership skills.
I cannot speak for all however it was easy in terms of me moving into the role I am in. There are always opportunities listed for assistant manager and manager positions. Upper roles are seemingly harder to come by however they do pop up every so often. There are definitely opportunities to move up the ranks and usually applying for roles, you get reasoning as to why you were not selected and what to focus and work on to achieve the level.
There are opportunities to progress through the program if I continue to improve and perform
There is opportunity for me to move into a leadership role. My employer does provide opportunities to fulfill my career aspirations, because I am offered opportunities to learn different parts of the business that will help me when I get the chance to step up. The program I am currently taking part in is also giving me the tools I need to take the next step.
