Being an auditor with QAO puts you in a position where you build relationships with your public-sector clients whilst delving into the detail of the work that they do. This can make you a prime candidate for when open positions with your clients are on offer.
Promotion is handled through a system called Cognology. Each position has certain goals and responsibilities that are documented by QAO. Every six months, you and your manager go through these goals and map them to the work you have been doing, to show off how you are succeeding in the role. If you can demonstrate that you are constantly succeeding in your work, you will be considered for promotion. There are also internal secondments where you get to try working in a higher role.
After the graduate year you are moved up to the next role as long as you pass probation. The employer offers opportunities for training and development and support for professional qualifications
As a graduate, you follow a structured 12-month program, which eventually leads to your first promotion. From there, there is a clearly defined path to promotions
