It varies from team to team, the majority of managers care and are great mentors however there are some that are not equipped to lead others. At times, your direct manager may be hard to reach as they are extremely busy
My managers have always been supportive of me and very accommodating with the type of work I would like to do in their team. We also usually have catch ups every fortnight we I can receive feedback on the work that I've done so far.
I have been fortunate enough to have all great managers. Each manager has challenged me and made sure I am continuously learning. They provide me with relevant feedback when needed and will ensure I have a good workload depending on the skills I am concurrently learning
