The graduate program is a great path to supervisor/management roles in your career as you have a unique experience where you are shown many areas of your business unit in a short period of time with lots of networking and leadership insight. guidance/information on career progression opportunities are always available.
As a grad unless you are offered a position , there is no moving up the ranks in this role
I am involved in a 2-year grad program where at the end or at some point throughout the program i can be offered a permanent position within the company. peoples experience around me and conversations i have with my managers suggest their are opportunities that will fulfil my career aspirations.
Once completing the graduate program, you will have learnt across various different areas, so you have the ability to work under any area a which makes it more valuable in terms of being able to get any job you want. you also are paired with a job upon completion of the grad program that both the company and you are happy taking. this can include a managing role. you also have the opportunity to get your heavy vehicles licence which does provide another career option.
