I am in an indigenous graduate program focused recruiting indigenous graduates to csiro and helping indigenous people get postgraduate education.
Just like many organisations, there are drives to employ indigenous peoples and other marginalised/oppressed groups however, there is little support when in the organisation and limited retention. it has been disappointing to be an indigenous graduate hearing about all the intentions to support indigenous researchers and indigenous research projects, and to see little support for retention or the ongoing costs of this. my organisation could also do a lot better in increasing the understanding and respect for diversity within the organisation for example running trainings for all staff regarding trans/gender diverse inclusivity and cultural awareness, consequently the education of peers/organisation/clients and the development of safer spaces is left to the person who is of diverse/marginalised identity.
