Of the 10 graduates hired there are 5 men and 5 women. we represent a variety of religions and some of us are lgbtqia+ however, there are still apparent inequalities for women, especially with maternity leave entitlements and the like. ansto is working very hard on this, and discussions about it are openly being had. for the lgbtqia+ community, ansto is working to try to create a better and inclusive environment (the is a club, and an ally network) , although it does feel that this is secondary to the gender issue.
There are great intiatives in place to support women fro maternitiy leave as well as on-site child care.
We have a prayer room, and many support networks for diverse groups of people. at the moment the employee pool may not be an accurate representation of the community, but the company is committed to changing this.
